What Makes Seychelles Package Prices Go Up or Down

Seychelles trip costs vary based on factors such as travel season, accommodation category, trip duration, island combinations, flights, and the experiences included in your itinerary.

  • Accommodation Category: This is the biggest price driver of any Seychelles tour and can account for a major portion of your travel budget. Thrillophilia offers multiple accommodation categories to suit different budgets and comfort preferences, with stay costs ranging from around INR 5,000 to over INR 50,000 per night, depending on the property and location.
  • Island Coverage: Seychelles is a multi-island destination, and the number of islands you choose to visit directly impacts your overall trip cost. Budget-friendly trips are often based in Mahé, while mid-range and premium itineraries include additional transfers, more hotel changes, and multiple ferry journeys to cover several islands.
  • Travel Season: December and January are among the peak travel months in Seychelles due to high visitor demand, leading to higher hotel and flight prices. April-May and October-November generally offer pleasant weather conditions and lower prices.
  • Transport Style: Budget transport options include buses, walking, and selective use of taxis, which can save you INR 10,000+ on your Seychelles tour. Premium options often include frequent taxi usage, rental cars, and private transfers, which add significantly to the overall trip cost.

How to Reach Seychelles from India + ETA Guide

The best way to travel to Seychelles from India is by flight. Currently, only Mumbai offers direct flight routes to Seychelles, while other major cities offer connecting flights with one layover city in between.

Thrillophilia Note: The cheapest window to book direct flights to the Seychelles is usually April, and November/December is the most expensive. If you’re planning on travelling during the peak season, book at least 3-4 months in advance to avoid peak pricing.

  • Departure Cities: Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai

Thrillophilia Note: To avoid missing luggage transfers when connecting within Seychelles, we recommend booking domestic connections with a comfortable buffer before the next departure.

Seychelles ETA Guide

Indian passport holders do not require a visa in order to travel to the Seychelles as of June 2026. However, they do need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before departure. Apart from this, you get a visitor permit upon arrival, which is valid for a period of 90 days.

Required Documents for ETA:

  • Passport: Valid for a minimum of six months from the date of departure
  • Photo: Recent, clear, digital photograph
  • Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed booking details of hotel/resort
  • Flight Tickets: Confirmed flight tickets for both arrival and departure
  • Proof of Funds: Bank statements that prove you have sufficient funds (approx. INR 13,000 per day during your stay)
  • Travel Insurance: Valid insurance covering health and medical evacuations
  • Email Address: To receive the verified authorisation

Steps for Online ETA Application:

  • Visit the official Seychelles portal for the ETA application, or download the mobile app “Seychelles E-Border".
  • Start your application process by selecting your traveller type (tourist or resident).

  • Upload digital copies of the required documents (passport and photograph).

  • Complete all health and customs declaration questions.
  • Pay the processing fee. The fee starts at approximately INR 1,000 and varies depending on how quickly you require the authorisation. The processing time at the INR 1,000 fee level is 24 hours.

We suggest completing this application process at least 10 days before your trip to avoid any last-minute hassles. You can choose to do it by yourself or ask for assistance from the Thrillophilia team.

How Thrillophilia Supports You Through the ETA Application

  • Provides hotel vouchers and confirmed booking documents as per the required format
  • Provides complete flight and intercity transport reservation documents for submission

Top Places to Visit on a Seychelles Trip from India

Choosing the right island is an important part of planning a Seychelles trip. Here's a guide to the main islands and the experiences they are best known for.

Mahé

Mahé is the main tourist hub of Seychelles, home to the international airport and the smallest capital city in the world, Victoria. Most trips start and end here because of the airport and inter-island ferry connectivity network. A stay in Mahé is perfect for sightseeing, easy beach access (25 min from the airport), and shopping at the local markets.

  • Best Highlights: Morne Seychellois National Park (20% of Mahé's land area), Ste Anne Marine Park, Beau Vallon beach, Sir Selwyn Clarke Market, and Victoria
  • Best for: First-timers, families, and divers
  • Things to Do: Diving, swimming, and jetskiing at Beau Vallon Beach; glass-bottom boat ride in Ste Anne Marine Park; shopping at Sir Selwyn Clarke Market
  • Glass-bottom Boat Ride in Ste Anne Marine Park: Starts at INR 14,000+ per person for a full-day excursion, including lunch and sometimes snorkelling, depending on the package
  • Diving in Beau Vallon Beach: Starts at INR 10,000-12,000 per person for a dive session; usually operates from 8 am to 5 pm
  • Morne Seychellois National Park Entry: INR 1,600 to INR 1,800 per person

Praslin

Praslin is the reason why Seychelles is popular for its natural attractions. Home to Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, it is home to the coco de mer palm, the world’s largest seed, up to 25 kg in weight. The Anse Lazio Beach, one of the best beaches in the world with its powdery white sand and turquoise waters, is also located in Praslin. This region is a more nature and beach-focused secluded area of Seychelles, with Anse Georgette about a 20-min walk from Lemuria Resort.

  • Best Highlights: Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, Anse Lazio Beach, and Anse Georgette
  • Best for: Honeymooners, nature photographers, and beach enthusiasts
  • Things to Do: Boat trips to Curieuse Island, hiking to see coco de mer palms in Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, snorkelling, and relaxing at Anse Lazio beach.
  • How to Reach: The Cat Cocos ferry from Mahé takes around 1 hour 15 minutes and costs approximately INR 5,100 per person one way, with fares varying by season and sea conditions.
  • Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve: Entry fee is around INR 2,000-2,800; a free guided tour on a shared basis is offered between 9 am and 2 pm

La Digue

If you want to relax and enjoy a complete digital detox, La Digue is the best island to stay on. There are no private cars here, so most people get around by bicycle or traditional ox cart. The island is home to Anse Source d'Argent, one of the most photographed beaches in the Indian Ocean, along with L'Union Estate, where you can see a vanilla plantation and giant tortoises. Life on La Digue is slow, peaceful, and free from the rush of everyday life. Since the island has fewer than 40 registered places to stay, it is best to book your accommodation 3 to 4 months in advance if you plan to visit during peak season.

  • Best Highlights: Anse Source d'Argent (most photographed beach) and L'Union Estate
  • Best for: Couples, photographers, slow travel, and digital detox
  • Things to Do: Exploring the giant granite boulders, snorkelling and diving, and relaxing at Anse Source d'Argent; exploring the vanilla plantation, copra mill, and giant tortoise pen at L'Union Estate
  • How to Reach: The Cat Rose ferry from Praslin takes around 15 minutes and costs approximately INR 1,300 per person one way, with fares varying by season and sea conditions.
  • Thrillophilia’s Summary: If you're visiting Seychelles for the first time, Mahé is the best choice for its easy access to the airport, markets, and major attractions. If you prefer nature, water activities, and a quieter atmosphere, consider staying in Praslin. For a peaceful escape and a slower pace of life, La Digue is ideal, where most travel is done by bicycle or traditional ox cart.

Top Things to Do on a Seychelles Trip

Diving/Snorkelling: The Seychelles, known for its clean beaches, offers multiple snorkelling and diving spots. During peak season, water visibility ranges from 20 to 30 metres, with an average temperature of 28°C. Both activities are beginner-friendly, although having some swimming experience is preferred for diving. L’ilot is one of the best diving spots in Seychelles, known for its 18-metre depth, granite walls, and frequent hawksbill turtle sightings.

Best Time: April to May and October (good visibility and calm seas)

Best Locations: L’ilot Site, Coco Island Marine Park, St Pierre Island, and Ave Maria

When to Avoid: May to September (windy weather and choppy and rough waters) and January to February (peak rainy season)

Copolia Trail Hike: With a 1.4 to 1.6 km stretch one way, it takes about 2 hours for a round trip on this trail. If you are a hiking enthusiast, make sure to visit this place on your Seychelles trip. When you reach its granite peak, you are greeted by a complete view of Victoria and the St Anne Marine Park. The trail is beginner-friendly in most seasons.

Best Time: May to October for clear and dry weather; go for early morning slots like 8 am for better views

How to Reach: It is roughly 6 km from Victoria to Sans Soucis Road, a marked entrance near the Copolia Lodge.

When to Avoid: December-March (the trail is slippery due to the rainy season during this time.)

Giant Tortoise Encounter: Tortoises can live for more than 150 years. Seychelles offers the only two islands in the world where giant tortoises roam free. This is something you simply have to experience for yourself, because it is truly one of a kind.

Best Time: November to April (wet seasons make for the perfect conditions for increased tortoise activities.)

Best Locations: Curieuse Island and La Digue (L'Union Estate)

When to Avoid: Noon visits (12-3 pm, tortoises hide in shade or stay inactive during this time.)

Whale Shark Snorkelling: One of the more premium experiences in Seychelles, whale shark snorkelling takes you by boat to popular sighting areas where you can look for these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Throughout the experience, a local expert accompanies you, providing guidance and safety instructions during the snorkelling session.

Best Time: October-November

Best Location: Northwest coast of Mahé

Hidden Waterfall Trek: This is one of the most unique experiences that Seychelles can offer you. If you want a less-travelled route with fewer crowds, this is a 40-min hike from Anse Lazio in Praslin. It’s a huge granite pool fed by a 6-metre waterfall and usually empty of most travellers by 8 am.

Best Time: May to September (cool, dry weather)

How to Reach: It’s a 15-min hike from the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve.

When to Avoid: January to February (the trail is slippery due to the heavy rainfall.)

Best Time to Visit Seychelles

Each tourist window of Seychelles has something unique to offer for every traveller. Your packing essentials also vary depending on what time you decide to plan to depart. According to the Seychelles Meteorological Authority, here is a month-by-month guide to help you time your Seychelles trip perfectly -

April-May (27–29°C)

If you plan on booking a water activities-heavy itinerary, this window is perfect for you. With calm seas and low winds, this window has the best dive visibility, reaching up to 30 metres+. Since it’s not peak tourist season, you also get better deals on flights and hotels.

Best for: Divers, photography, honeymoons, and island hopping

Avoid if: You prefer lively experiences or are looking for the cheapest deals

June-September (25–29°C)

This is the peak traveller season in Seychelles. The weather is dry, yet cool, making it perfect for both outdoor activities and water sports. Sailing is also a very popular activity during this time because of the trade winds. Due to the overall good weather in this window, the increase in traveller visits results in inflated pricing of accommodations and flights.

Best for: Hiking, Sailing and other wind-based activities; first-timers; families; group travellers

Avoid if: You are a budget-conscious traveller looking for a peaceful trip with fewer crowds

Thrillophilia Insight: The northwest coast beaches are calm and great for diving and other water sports. The southeast-facing beaches, however, including Anse Intendance, experience rougher sea behaviour and stronger currents during this window. Plan your activity destinations accordingly.

October-November (28–30°C)

This window sees the transition into the peak monsoon season in Seychelles. With overall good weather for sightseeing and other outdoor activities, you are most likely to experience only light rain in this window. October creates the perfect conditions to spot sharks off the northwestern coast of Mahé. November significantly increases the chances of rain in most regions of Seychelles. Since this is a shoulder season, flights and hotels offer better deals in comparison to the peak season.

Best for: Solo travellers, backpackers, marine life experiences, and sunset cruises

Avoid if: You prefer an outdoors-heavy itinerary or activity-packed plans

Thrillophilia Insight: Shark sightings do not follow a steady pattern. To increase your chances of spotting one, book your cruise or boat rides 1-2 days in advance, depending on the latest sighting news.

December-March (30-31°C)

This is the peak monsoon season in Seychelles, with heavy rainfall reaching up to 380 mm in some areas, especially during December. Due to lower tourist demand during this period, many hotels and resorts offer discounts of 20–30%. However, strong winds and rough sea conditions can result in ferry cancellations, while reduced underwater visibility may affect diving and snorkelling activities.

Best for: Travellers who want the cheapest deals and indoor-based itineraries

Avoid if: You are a first-time visitor, planning extensive sightseeing or water sports, or looking for a premium milestone trip

Best Dishes to Eat in Seychelles

Seychelles cuisine is influenced by African, Indian, British, French, and Chinese flavours. As an island country, many local dishes are made with fresh seafood and coconut, which are commonly used ingredients across the islands.

Coconut Curry: Made with fish/chicken, it is a staple dish preferred for lunch and dinner. Upon request, they also offer a vegetarian version of this dish with assorted vegetables.

Cost: INR 210 to INR 420

Best Place to Try: Marie Antoinette Restaurant, Mahé (Creole institution since 1972)

Shark Chutney: It's a traditional Seychellois dish made from boiled, minced shark meat with onions, lemon, and spices. It's usually served cold as a side dish and has no vegetarian version.

Cost: INR 110 to INR 210

Best Places to Try: Local eateries in Victoria; Sir Selwyn Clarke Market

Grilled Red Snapper: Also known as 'Pwason Griye' or 'Bourzwa Grillé', it is a signature Seychellois dish. It’s a whole red snapper marinated with garlic, ginger, chillies, lime juice, soy sauce, and thyme and then grilled over slow heat over charcoal. It’s a must-try dish on your Seychelles trip. There is no vegetarian version available of this.

Cost: INR 280 to INR 560

Best Places to Try: Any beachside restaurant; Café des Arts, Praslin

Breadfruit: Also known as 'uru', it's a French-inspired staple, a starchy food roasted whole over a wood fire with a soft, smoky interior. There is a saying in Seychelles that if you eat breadfruit while visiting, you’re “bound to return to the islands”. The best part? It is a vegetarian dish.

Cost: INR 70 to INR 140

Best Places to Try: All local restaurants as a side dish

Lentil Dhal + Coconut Chatini: This dish combines red lentil dal cooked with coconut milk, turmeric, and garlic, and is usually served with a spicy coconut chutney. Many restaurants can also prepare a Jain version if requested while ordering.

Cost: INR 85 to INR 170

Best Places to Try: Local Creole restaurants (ask specifically for it)

Ladob Dessert: It is served in both sweet and savoury styles. The sweet version traditionally includes breadfruit, ripe plantains, and sweet potatoes cooked in a sauce made with coconut milk, sugar, vanilla pod, and nutmeg. The savoury version is usually prepared with breadfruit and vegetables, simmered in lightly seasoned coconut milk and served as a side dish with fish, meat, or curry.

Cost: INR 85 to INR 140

Best Places to Try: Windflower Cafe (Mahé), and local roadside stalls and takeaways

Indian Restaurants in Mahé: Mahek Indian Restaurant (Victoria area) and The Maharaja's serve full Indian menus with an assortment of vegetarian and Jain options. For vegetarian options at your hotel/resort, inform them in advance of your dietary preferences.

Is Seychelles Safe for Indian Travellers?

Seychelles is generally considered to be a traveller-friendly destination. However, it’s still important to consider and understand all possible issues you might face on the trip and the best ways to avoid them. Thrillophilia offers 24/7 on-trip assistance for every Seychelles tour package; contact us immediately without any hesitation if you face any issues during your trip.

  • General Safety: Seychelles is known for its low violent crime rates. However, petty crime reports in tourist places are common. Exercise general caution with your belongings and stay away from dark, isolated places late at night.
  • Solo Female Traveller Safety: Exercising standard precautions like staying away from dark areas late at night and avoiding isolated places will be enough.
  • Ferry Safety: Cat Cocos is a government-operated ferry service that is regularly inspected and equipped with life jackets on board. Check local weather updates for rough sea warnings and avoid taking the ferry during unlikely conditions.
  • Travel Insurance: There is only 1 main hospital in Seychelles (Victoria, Mahé). Serious medical cases might require evacuation to Mauritius or India. We strongly recommend including travel insurance with your booked package so that you are well-protected against most medical issues.

Seychelles Travel Essentials for Indian Travellers

Before travelling to Seychelles, it is helpful to understand the key travel essentials, including entry requirements, currency, connectivity, transportation, and local travel tips for a smooth and hassle-free holiday.

Currency & Payments

  • The official currency of Seychelles is the Seychellois Rupee (SCR). 1 SCR equals 6.44 INR, as of June 2026.
  • Visa and Mastercard are the safest payment methods for hotels, resorts, car rentals, ferry bookings, larger restaurants, and supermarkets. Other forms of cards and digital payments are also widely available.
  • For payments at local restaurants, public transport, markets, and beach shacks, you will require cash. While Mahe is the most card-friendly island, La Digue mostly operates on cash. Be mindful and carry cash accordingly.

SIM and Connectivity

Although Indian SIM cards function in Seychelles, you would require activating an international roaming package before your arrival. It often offers a slow and buffering network with an expensive bill to follow up on. Purchase a local SIM card instead for cheaper packages and better network connectivity.

Packing Essentials

  • Reef-safe Sunscreen: Chemical sunscreens are harmful to corals. Only use biodegradable and mineral-based sunscreens. It’s a highly recommended item for national parks.
  • Water Shoes/Reef Shoes: Standard sandals don’t have enough grip for secure explorations of granite rocks. It’s an essential item, especially for beaches like Anse Royale.
  • Waterproof Phone Pouch: This is just a cautionary item to protect your phone during ferry crossings, kayaking, and snorkelling.
  • UK Type G Adapter: Seychelles commonly uses British 3-pin sockets. Indian plugs won’t fit without an adapter.
  • Cash: Some ticket counters, especially at Vallée de Mai, don’t accept digital payments. Carry both to avoid any entry-related issues.
  • ETA Authorisation printout: This is a mandatory requirement at immigration. Carry both printed and digital copies.
  • Travel Insurance Documents: This is a mandatory requirement. Carry the documents and policy with medical evacuation coverage.

Guide for Inter-island Transfers

The Cat Cocos ferry network is the most preferred inter-island transfer mode for both travellers and locals. It is a government-authorised service with regular safety checks and life jackets available on board for passenger safety.

Thrillophilia pre-arranges transfer routes immediately after itinerary confirmation to avoid any last-minute hassle while you’re on your trip.

Mahé to Praslin

Transport: Cat Cocos Ferry

Duration: 1 hour 15 min on average

Cost: Around INR 5,100 per person for a one-way trip

Booking Tip: Book at least 72 hours in advance during peak windows (April-May and June-August)

Praslin to La Digue

Transport: Cat Rose Ferry

Duration: 15 min on average

Cost: Around INR 1,300 per person for a one-way trip

Booking Tip: Ferries depart every 30 minutes from Baie Ste Anne

Thrillophilia’s Seychelles Ferry Insights

  • In case of ferry cancellations due to rough sea conditions, take a 15 min internal flight from Mahé to Praslin. Air Seychelles operates this route regularly with prices ranging from INR 7,000 to INR 10,000 for a one-way trip.
  • A full ferry circuit covering Mahé–Praslin–La Digue–Mahé costs INR 18,000 to INR 24,500 for a couple. Confirm the prices before booking.
  • Night navigation is strictly prohibited. The cruise and ferry window for each day is 4-5 hours.
  • All ferry prices are subject to change based on season and booking windows. If you’re travelling in peak windows, make sure to book the ferries or flights at least 72+ hours in advance.

Hey Thrillophilia team, We celebrated our 2nd anniversary in Seychelles in May 2022 and it was inexplicably mind blowing. We had the best time of our lives. Our itinerary was well planned and it was all we wanted it to have. All thanks to your team. 1. We went to Praslin first where we stayed at La Domaine La reserve. The travel and transfers were quite comfortable. We enjoyed our ferry ride extremely. The room had garden with beach view which was unexpected and beyond our thoughts. Vegetarian food was available and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We stayed there for 3 days and we had the best leisure time ♥️ 2. At our anniversary day we stayed at a private island named round island which was completely out of the box with just 10 infinity pool villas. It is very difficult to express that how magical and mystic was the place. The open showers and bath tub arrangement was dreamy and the privacy maintained at the villas was incredible. I give all the credits to Thrillophilia for the suggestion of that island. Thankyou Divyanshu and team ;) 3. The last day of our trip we explored Mahe island with its diverse beaches and waterfalls. It was crazy fun 🤩  My Insta handle is @divyajn17 where I have tagged Thrillophilia as well.

First luxury international trip and Seychelles was the right choice. Thrillophilia's team guided us from the start, which island to stay on for how long, which ferry to take, which beach to visit when. Their knowledge of Seychelles specifically was impressive. Anse Source d Argent on La Digue is the most beautiful place I have ever stood. No competition.
