Home to one of the world’s most feared predators, Shark Island is truly one of the most remarkable places in Bali and it is worth adding to your Bali travel packages. The sharks' home is just off the coast of Denpasar, Bali, on the Serangan island, where thousands of tourists visit each year to mingle with these magnificent creatures. You can get a closer look at these predators with razor fangs while being guided by trained educators.
When we think of the deep and dangerous waters, sharks have always been a terrifying nightmare, but as you play with the baby sharks you learn that there is more to these intriguing animals than just being carnivorous beasts.
The Shark Island conservatory also offers a safe space for deep sea explorations. Visitors are taken on 3 hour eco tours that take them into the open sea, where the rescued baby sharks can be seen swimming. Trained supervisors man the arena as visitors not only watch but also feed these majestic creatures. Visitors are also taught to differentiate between the varying breeds of sharks living here such as the black and white tip sharks, gray reef sharks, ornate sharks and tasseled sharks. The Island also houses an adjacent Turtle Conservatory, which one can visit to complement their stay here.
