History of Rodin Museum

In 1919, the Rodin Museum was first opened. At the time, it was housed in a vast Parisian Mansion called the Hôtel Peyriac de Moras. The mansion itself was built in the 1700s, but its popularity grew dramatically after the establishment of the Rodin museum within it. Jean Aubert, the personal architect of the King at the time, is credited with the designing of the Musee Rodin. 

By the 1900s, the mansion underwent several renovations and came to be known as the Hotel Biron, which is today, the site of the Central Paris version of the Rodin Museum. It is now wholly a museum, with most of the architecture reflecting the regal and preservatory styles of the other Parisian Museums.
