About Parque de las Ciencias

Parque de las Ciencias is a museum and a science centre which deals majorly with the study of Science. The museum is an integral part of ECSITE or the European Network of Science Centers and Museums. Since its inception in 1995, it has been directed by Ernesto Páramo Sureda only.

The museum works under the motto, "A new kind of Museum", which also states that it is one of Spain's rare museums that talks about different forms of life. Every day, several permanent and temporary exhibitions are held here. Some of the most prominent ones are 'Windows to Science' and 'Live Science', which offer tourists an experience of being present in the actual lab.

The museum is spread over a massive land of over 70,000m2, making it one of the largest museums in Spain and the world. It is often said that one day isn't enough to explore the entire place. Whereas tourists need a couple of days for a lifetime experience. The museum is classified into different areas, which makes it easier for tourists to plan their day well. Tips to Visit Parque de las Ciencias:

  • Book your tickets to Parque de las Ciencias in advance to avoid long queues promising a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
  • Taking the car or cab from the Granada city centre would be the ideal option to visit this museum rather than walking your way up to the museum.
  • It is recommended that you cover your head with a hat, your eyes with sunglasses, and put on sunscreen lotion to protect yourself from the heat.

How to Reach Parque de las Ciencias

By car- If you want to travel by car, visit Granada city centre from where the museum is located only 3 km away. It takes about 5-6 minutes to reach your destination.

By tram- Take a tram from Caleta to Parque de las Ciencias and reach your destination within 8 minutes.

By Bus- City buses on lines 5, 11, 21, and C5, are available which will take you to the Alcázar de Genial stop, which is the nearest bus stop from the museum. It is 1 km away and takes about 5 minutes to walk to reach the destination.
