This is a plan executed every year by the Mayor of Paris to make Paris into one kind of tourist destination. It was started as a project to keep Parisians from moving to the countryside for beach experiences. Each year during the summer season, several artificial beaches are created along the Rivers Seine banks in the center of Paris. A natural beach look is mimicked by the man-made ones in the fashion of sands covered with palm trees. The roads toward the region of the Seine River are used mostly for cyclic activities and various other socio-cultural activities. Paris Plages is open during the months of mid-July, august, and sometimes up to early September. The best time to visit Paris Plages is around the early morning hours because it gets crowded during the later hours of the day. The spots fill up quickly making it hard to find space for oneself, hence it should be visited during the early hours.
