About Parc de la Villette Paris

Spreading across 137 acres, Parc de la Villette is the third largest park in Paris homing a major cultural venue in the country. Started as an urban redevelopment project, this park was built on the grounds of meat houses after their clearance by Napoleon 3. Parc de la Villette was majorly designed by Bernard Tschumi from 1984 to 1987, who had won a design contest during those days.

The park was made to cater to the cultural needs of the city as the development of Paris was focused on becoming a tourist city. Explore the cultural wonders of the park with our Best Europe packages. The popular park houses Europe’s largest science museum - the City of Science and Industry, the magnificent Conservatoire de Paris, and three concert grounds along with many other attractions. Owing to the City of Science, this park is frequently visited by students and learners. The presence of the concert halls invites a lot of musicians and performers to amuse the spectators. The whole area encompassing all the attractions is organized via 35 grid points, termed follies. All of them lead to a unique place where people belonging to any age group enjoy their time to interact, relax, and have fun.

Parc de la Villette comprises 10 beautiful gardens, each of their own kind. The gardens are created in a minimalist style possessing various sculptures. One such figurine is a steel dragon, mainly made to attract and entertain children. Another garden includes the bamboo garden, a popular spot for relaxation and exploration.
