Palacio de los Olvidados

The Palacio de los Olvidados occupies a structure from the sixteenth century that was formerly called Palacio de Santa Inés. As such, it is one of the few aristocratic homes in Albaicin that has been preserved in its original splendour.

Since the shields on the building's facade have been shaved or destroyed, it is assumed that the building once belonged to a "convert" who wished to conceal the "footprints" of his lineage. This 500-year-old structure was recently transformed into a cultural centre where the extraordinary art collection of the Crespo López family is on display.

The goal is to honour the once-prominent Jewish culture of Spain, and of Granada in particular, which has faced all the torture but forgotten. There are a total of six galleries showcasing artefacts from various eras of the Jewish community in Spain.

About 50 people can watch performances, concerts, and other events in the courtyard's open air amphitheatre. There are two rooms, one on each floor of the Palace, set aside for workshops and activities that both kids and adults can participate in for fun.

The best time to visit the Palacio de Los Olvidados is on the weekdays as the crowd is less during days which makes it convenient for the visitors to explore the infrastructure. It is advisable to visit the palace early so that you will get enough time to observe the building.

Tips to Visit Palacio de los Olvidados

• The museum does not have an elevator.
• The location is not accessible for those with wheelchairs.
• Children under the age of five are admitted free of charge. 
• The package is discounted for those aged 6 to 12, full-time students with valid ID, and seniors. 
• The package is available to anyone over the age of 13 at the adult rate.
• The Palacio de los Olvidados has a daily closing time of 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
• Each guest must present a valid form of identification upon check-in.
• Passport and visa information must be disclosed upon arrival for all international visitors.
• Any form of intoxication, including the use of alcohol, is strictly forbidden.

By Car - The heart of Granada is only 1.9 kilometers from where the action takes place. In a car, you'll arrive at your destination in about 10 minutes.
