About Palacio de Las Duenas

The Palacio Las Dueñas, the residence of the Dukes of Alba, is one of the city's most famous landmarks to discover the lifestyle of Seville royals who lived here. The palace is made up of several structures and courtyards, as well as a typical Andalusian patio. Large open spaces predominate in the palace, emphasizing its overall splendor.

Built in Seville in the 15th century, it shows a striking combination of Gothic-Mudéjar and Renaissance architecture. The typical Seville style is reflected throughout the palace as well as in the chapel's main altar through their bricks, wall tiles, roof tiles, paint, and ceramics. Another draw is the Duchy of Alba's coat of arms, which is displayed in the palace's entryway.

The Palacio Las Dueñas is also home to a vast collection of artworks that contains sculptures, furniture, and paintings from the 15th to 20th centuries. The artworks by Francesco Furini (The Creation of Eva), Bassano (Los Cacharreros), and a Virgin by Neri di Bicci are a few of the most valuable treasures in the palace that garner interest in a trip to the Casa Palacio de las Dueñas. The architectural significance, historic value, and important archaeological collection make it one of Seville's major tourist attractions.
