Neptune Fountain

The fountain was built in the 18th century and the square is surrounded by many aristocratic buildings such as Villahermosa Palace, the Prado Museum, and the Congreso de los Diputados. In the middle of this ornate fountain is a sculpture of Neptune, the God of the Sea. It can be seen holding a trident on one hand while riding on a carriage pulled by two horses, and a sea snake on the other.
