About Luxembourg Palace

The Palais du Luxembourg or Luxembourg Palace is the most popular tourist attraction in the City of France during your Europe tour. This palace used to serve the Senate of the Fifth Republic and was initially constructed for the mother of Louis XIII of France, Marie de Medici. On your visit to the Luxembourg Palace, you can watch the architectural beauty of the palace and admire the entertaining theatrical puppet shows, magic shows, and famous fairy tales with your family.

Situated on the south side of the palace is the Luxembourg Gardens, which is filled with luscious green lawns accompanied by orchards of apple and pine trees. It is one of the fundamental things that give the garden a bright and colorful look. You will also find sculptures of famous people in the gardens of the Luxembourg Palace like L'Hôpital and Turgot. The octagonal water basins, particularly the Grand Bassins, can also be seen in the Luxembourg Palace, where children usually sail their paper boats with their friends.

Visitors can also glance at the spectacular collection of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings in the L’Orangerie du Jardin du Luxembourg. Moving forward, it is advisable not to miss the collections of the art museum in Fontaine Medicis and Pavillon Davioud as these monuments augment the beauty of the Luxembourg Gardens even further.
