The Kunjapuri Temple Trek, one of the best one day treks, takes you to an altitude of 5,500 feet above sea level. This popular trek is renowned not only for its scenic beauty but also for its spiritual significance. Visitors can view breathtaking vistas of the Garhwal Himalayas, including iconic peaks like Swargarohini, Gangotri, Bandarpoonch, and Chaukhamba. The trail also offers sweeping views of Rishikesh, Haridwar, and the Doonghati of the Bhagirathi Valley.

The temple is a sacred shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga and one of the 52 Shakti Peethas. Legend says that after Sati's self-immolation, Lord Shiva carried her body across the Himalayas, and her chest is believed to have fallen at Kunjapuri.

The trek through lush forests and picturesque villages like Dharkot village and Barkot village offers the opportunity to witness the mesmerising Neer Garh Waterfall. Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking sunrise and sunset views from the temple, where golden hues illuminate the Himalayan ranges. Experience the charm of local villages, offering a glimpse into the simple, traditional lifestyle of the region.
