About Kumarakottam Temple

Kumarakottam Temple is one of the most important Hindu temples and top places to see in Kanchipuram. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, who is the Hindu God of War. The temple was built in the year 1915 and is one of the most important temples in the city. 

The main deity of the temple, Lord Murugan is depicted holding a water pot or kamandalu and the prayers beads of Rudraksha making the temple deity a very popular in the city.

Timings: Monday to Sunday from 6 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 9 PM.
