Golden Roof, Innsbruck

This place is one of the most popular parts of the city as it is more than 700 years old. With a lot of baroque style architecture, this is now a pedestrian walkway and is located outside the old town. At one point, this place was the centre of Austrian aristocracy and today it is lined up with cafes, shops, and landmarks. Some of the major landmarks close to this place include the St Anne's Column and the Triumphal Arch. 

When in Innsbruck, you can take a guide tour of the Golden Roof by checking out the gilded copper tiles. Tourists visiting Innsbruck usually end up clicking photos in front of the Golden Roof, so even you can try it out. However, for the best effect, make sure you include the mountains in the backdrop. The golden roof comes with its intricately designed facade located on the opposite corner which is worth checking out.

A visit to the old town is incomplete without checking out the city tower. This tower has its origins from the 1450s and was used for centuries to warn locals about upcoming dangers. Later, it was also used as a prison at the base too. The tower offers the best views of the city, so make sure you head to the top. You will have to climb at least 148 stairs, but the 360 degrees views are so worth it. In the background, you can check out the Nordkette mountains and the Bergisel ski jump too.
