About Conciergerie

Originally built as a magnificent royal palace, Conciergerie dates back to the fourteenth century. Considered among the most impressive structures of the Middle Ages, the building has served a number of purposes over time, starting from being used as a parliament to being a museum. Enhance your adventurous exploration of Conciergerie with our Europe trip packages, ensuring an wonderful and memorable journey through this historic landmark.

Constructed on the Isla de la Cite, the Conciergerie was formerly called Palais de la Cite. The building got its new name when the French King Charles V planned to shift his dwelling place to Louvre. The Conciergerie then started being used as the kingdom’s new parliament.

In spite of its preserved medieval appearance, the building of Conciergerie experienced some major renovation in the nineteenth century. The structure has also received a number of additional constructions in the course of various kings. The patchwork clearly shows the architectural marvels and intricate design works of the times gone by.

In 1914, Conciergerie was decommissioned and was open to the public as a national historical monument. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions featuring a wide range of artefacts of the times gone by. Only a small section of the total building is used as the museum and the rest are still in use as Paris Law Courts.

You would come across four massive minarets that cast amazing views to allure your senses, some parts of the royal treasure, marvellous

public clock, gothic vaulted interiors, and many relics of the past.

This small island and old settlement in Paris is a very tranquil place, and I loved exploring it to every bit. The tickets, which I booked from Thrillophilia’s website, also included visiting the Conciergerie and the Sainte Chapelle. It was truly memorable, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

These combo Sainte Chapelle and Conciergerie tickets, allowed us to explore these two iconic attractions with one ticket, saving us both time and money. The sacred aura and ambiance of the chapel were pleasing while the architecture and historical significance of the Conciergerie were amusing. We also got priority entry to Marie Antoinette's Revolutionary Court and Prison Cell as well as an informative booklet, which helped us with information about both monuments.Highly recommended to take this tour from Thrillophilia.

We purchased our Skip the Lines Conciergerie tickets around 4 months ago and only lately had the opportunity to visit. We had priority access to the attraction because the tickets were open-dated and valid for one year. We were able to examine this historical site, as well as the splendor of the famed revolutionary court and Marie-prison Antoinette's cell. We also learned about the building's rich history from the leaflet supplied. It was a fantastic trip.We booked this activity from thrillophilia with good discount offers.

With these Palais de la Cité tickets, I visited two world-famous attractions in one day while also skipping the lines. Both Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergerie are architectural marvels that awe everyone who visits them. I also get to tour the cells of prisoners and the tombs of French Revolution heroes. Because the ticket was valid for one full day, I took my time seeing the sites and the island. I am happy that I booked this package from thrillophilia as I got a great discount & instant booking confirmation. Must Visit!
