Coit Tower

The Coit Tower, alternatively known as the Coit Memorial Tower is a tower located in Telegraph Hill, San Francisco. This tower was built between 1932 and 1933 in an attempt to beautify the city. It is now in the list of National Register of Historic Places and is 64 metres tall. The locals believe that the tower was built to honour the volunteer firemen who lost their lives in the 5 major fire accidents of San Francisco. 

The tower is built using reinforced concrete and was designed by Arthur Brown Jr and Henry Temple Howard. The tower is built in s social realism style and comes with 22 artworks that are worth noticing. To get to the top, you will have to climb a fleet of 40 steps or you can use the elevator too. Either way, you are assured of the best views of San Francisco when you get to the top.
