About Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians

The church is dedicated to Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, and was built by Germans in 1913. The current structure was rebuilt after a major fire in 1936. Featuring Gothic-style architecture with stained glass windows and large arches, the church interior boasts terracotta cross stands, a bronze cavalry monument, stained glass windows, and the tomb of Hubert D'Rosario, Shillong’s first archbishop.
