About Bois de Boulogne Paris

Bois du Boulogne Paris is the city's largest public park, with an area of 850 hectares. It was once a royal hunting site where the French monarchs rode through the oak woodland on hunting expeditions. The hunting ground was opened to the public after the French Revolution, but it wasn't until 1852 that Emperor Napoleon III decided to turn the wild woodland region into a public park. The massive Bois du Boulogne Paris took six years to develop and is today known as the city's lungs.
